… isn’t it beautiful??!

cow

Mixed media on watercolor paper. (His tumor-like ear is due to the fact that I didn’t know it was going to be a bull when I started, and the shapes imposed on me by my abstract start placed the ear there! But I like him anyway.)

I hope you are well.

Many different moods mean many different kinds of pages.

Sometimes I wish I could be more consistent.

Oh well. I like these “Picasso Dogs.”

Watercolor!

From time to time I’m asked (and happy) to donate a piece of artwork to help raise money for a good cause. Recently I completed a piece for a fundraising drive for Bernie Berlin’s “A Place to Bark,” a no-kill foster and adoption animal rescue in Tennessee.

The artwork will be auctioned off in October, but in the meantime the multi-talented Jill Beninato produced this wonderful ‘zine (that is also part of the fundraiser).

Twenty-one artists made pieces of art…

… my contribution is above, right.

Lots of great work in here!

Recipes, too.

Art friends Rice(‘) and Maija both participated…

All proceeds from the purchase of this ‘zine go to help finish building a new kennel (already under construction). If you want to help and get a great ‘zine to boot, you can purchase your copy here.

This morning I got a few comments on Facebook regarding my “status”: I had complained mildly that our house wasn’t on the market yet… several friends said, “list it now before it’s perfect,” and then several more encouraged me to bury a statue of St. Joseph in our yard, as they had heard it worked to sell homes.

I looked it up, and decided I wasn’t faithful enough to actually BUY the little kit… oh well.

THEN, look what came in the mail today:

joseph2

A gift from my sister in law!!!

So, the statue is buried, the prayer has been said, and now we wait. (Oh, and finish the house and actually LIST it, so people will know it’s for sale!!)

PS… if you happen to KNOW anyone who wants a house in Salida, Colorado, I’ve uploaded some pics of the almost-unfinished house here!
