Today is a deadline for proposing some new classes for various events… I’m taking a risk and proposing a 3-hour figure drawing class… the mixed media art events that I usually teach at (Art & Soul, ArtUnraveled, and Artfest) are not known for emphasizing a traditional approach to artmaking (of which figure drawing would belong)… but I found drawing from life to be such an integral part of my own journey that I’m hoping there will be an interest… I’ll let you know if it gets picked!!

why stop there? how ’bout drawing from plaster casts as was required in art schools of the past? bring back 2 years of drawing without color. (it sounds like i’m kidding but i’m not. )

Ohhhh, Carla! I love this idea of life drawing at AU etc – I never had the chance to go to art school and wish more of the classes there were less crafty and more art oriented – if you are selected – sign me up – if a rank beginner can take the class – hope you’re having a good summer – xo xo reva
