Here is the little “test” video that I sent to the students signed up for the Draw! workshop today. I wanted to share it with you here at the blog to:
1) Entice a few more of you to sign up, and
2) Introduce you to this drawing game, which I “stole” from my 10-year-old niece, Brooke. Here is a giraffe I drew using the exercise in the video:
“Spotty,” Tombow marker on handmade paper, then outlined on computer.
Have a great week!

such fun, i used to play this game with my mum when i was a kid
Oh Carla, I would love to join both your classes but we are having a very ‘broke’ moment here so I hope that at least the draw class you will repeat later in the year.
It is summer in South Australia and very hot and as we are dairy farmers cows dont like the heat and dont like to produce milk! Not only that but it is so dry and some how we never seem to get ahead.
Love all your stuff.
Cheers Penny
Dear Carla, I have the same small problem as Penny, except I do not have any cows, but I have just had my work hours halved this year and we are supporting some family at the moment who have moved to South Australia from Victoria, Australia. Is there a ways of breaking the class into smaller financial segment? This is not a ‘woh me’, just a practical thought, I do have your books.
Oh yes, of course! I will email you directly.
Money is tight at the moment for me, too. I do plan on buying your books this year.
Thanks for reminding me
(Love the video.)
I stumbled across your books in ‘blogland’ and bought one last night on my kindle. I had to stop myself from reading as I want to go through the book and draw along with your book. (It’s the Mixed Media one).
Then this morning I decided I just had to sign up for hthis class. So here I am! Looking forward to tomorrow!!
you are so cute. i love this. looking forward to 2 weeks with you.
Hello from Germany! I’m so looking forward to the Draw!-Class! My creative self has been waiting to be freed for ages
I have all your books and love your style. I was tempted to subscribe to the giraffe-class, too, but I think that would have been too much. I hope that class will be published as a book or that I can subscribt to it as an online-self-study course later that year?
Best wishes
Tanja
That’s a fun drawing game! Thank you Brooke, Carla & Steve.
I’m loving your first two books Carla, thanks for all the effort you put into sharing via books, blog, youtube – so much appreciated!
Your beautiful work always helps me loosen up ~ thanks for sharing.
carla you are a complete and absolute DELIGHT. i’ve wondered what you “sound” like and now i know. love this video. and your walnut.
going to play this game with my sister when i see her over the weekend. i’m expecting gales of laughter!
So funny! What a great idea. Leave it to the kids to inspire.
