I’m surprised and disappointed about your somewhat sarcastic remark about the Oklahoma City show. I commissioned a work as a result of that show last year and have purchased several of your pieces since then–both from etsy–and also from a store in Boulder. If I remember correctly, you commented at one time that the Oklahoma City show was what showed you that you could actually make a living from your art. There are MANY artists who would love to be accepted into the Oklahoma City show. If you truly think we’re a bunch of uneducated hicks, then don’t come. I’m curious what the jury committee’s response will be to your comments. I, personally, am disappointed.
I am so sorry. My remark wasn’t meant to be sarcastic… only humorous… and tongue and cheek… I am very sorry it offended you.
I certainly don’t think anyone is a bunch of hicks! Please believe me when I say this… I truly appreciate OKC and the show… oh my gosh! I’m just horrified how I must have come across.
I truly am sorry … I will take it down from the site right away (for the sole reason that it offended you and could possibly offend someone else).
awww drat I wondered why I didn’t see the post. You took it down. Anyway…I found your journal from your etsy shop. I love your style and came to read your blog! how fabulous about the OKC festival of the arts. I live in Oklahoma and would love to see your art in person depending if I have to work most of the week or not. (I’m trying to sell art online but have to work to support it…so I’m still in the begining stages)
I totally forgot about the OKC art show!
Maybe some day I can have a boothe of my own…but I have a ways to go.
Hi Carla – RE: the comment, ” I’m surprised and disappointed about your somewhat sarcastic remark about the Oklahoma City show…If you truly think we’re a bunch of uneducated hicks, then don’t come. I’m curious what the jury committee’s response will be to your comments.” Hmm, bit of a Flare Up. Anyone, well almost, who has read your blog and seen your art knows what an open and kind person you are; you have a gentle sense of humor to match. I guess that’s one of the impediments of the written word – one can’t hear how something is said which makes it subject to misperception. Anyway, wishing you a wildly successful show.
hi carla,
may positive and loving energy surround you and your gorgeous artwork-filled booth. i hope you have a wonderful time and sell LOTS in Oklahoma!!!!!!
