I’m grateful for my family today. Here is Wes in his new glasses!
I’m on my way to the doctor this afternoon… I may have picked up a friend in India that is causing me to continue to lose weight (not that I’m complaining! But, I’ll get it checked out).
My creative burst last week combined with not feeling the greatest are two reasons I’m behind in all kinds of stuff. (Other reasons are procrastination, laziness and mild bouts of depression.) Cheering up is definitely needed over here! (Help!)

Here comes cheer: Yay, Carla! Go, Carla! You can do it, Carla! You’re the best, Carla!
Not that kind of cheer?
How about this? I loved your classes at Art and Soul and have continued to ponder and practice my art work. I’m so grateful for your guidance. You can’t know what it means to me, or maybe you can.
For so many years I’ve wanted to know why art has an unrelenting hold on me. Well, I guess I still don’t know the answer, but I’m OK with that. What you’ve helped me to do is feel less gripped by art and more like I’m taking hold of it.
Do you get post-DEPARTum depression? I always get that after art retreats. It’s wonderful to be home, but the depression seems to be the toll. Time to pay the piper, so to speak.
I am doing much better now. Today is the first chance I’ve had to spend in my “studio.” But I have been sketching and painting in my bedroom where I have a mini studio set up.
Thanks again for your wonderful help, advice, encouragement . . . I hope this brings you some good cheer.

Wes is very cute in his glasses!
I hope that bug gets exterminated and you feel better soon. Nothing else is as important as you getting better. Everything else can wait.
I had another friend come back from India and she still felt weird 3 or 4 weeks after she got back. She got better and so will you. Do go to the doctor A.S.A.P.

hey, don’t beat yourself up over being “behind” because you explored your creativity! You needed that time to play and explore, which is never a ‘waste’.
I hope the dr can help you with the ‘friend’ and that it leaves, pronto.
I’ve been thinking about your one line drawing exercise and am eager to try it and suggest it to my 8yo artist.
