Yesterday I was in tears when Steve came home at lunch: I’m Sick, I Have So Much To Do, Nothing is Getting Done, I’m Way Behind, Those Poor People Waiting For Their Commissions, Etc. Etc.
This is one reason why I love my husband: He hugged me, told me to take a nap and not to do anything else productive the rest of the day. I resisted… “I’m not tired!”… but I did what I was told and laid down. I woke up four hours later. Then I slept a full night last night as well. Hmmm.
I’m still feeling achy and such this morning, but at least I’m well rested. And ready to tackle the day.
I realized that LK had nominated me for a Brilliante Weblog Award… thank you!! (I always like to be “picked,” don’t you?)
Here are the rules, with my comments in blue.
1) Put the logo on your blog. I tried, and couldn’t. I’m a dork.
2) Add a link to the person who awarded you. http://gryphonsfeather.typepad.com/
3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs. Notes from the Voodoo Cafe, Karine’s Blog, Tara Ross Studios, Fran Meneley, Joyously Becoming, Happy Day Art, and Jane Moore Houghton.
4) Add links to those blogs on yours. Done.
5) Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs. I will do it. I haven’t done it yet, though. I will, though. Just add it to the list.
**** Later: Sorry to be so boring!!!
I’m sorry! (((Hugs)))
I know it’s hard to even think when you don’t feel well.
I pray you’ll feel better soon.
If I have learned nothing else this past week it is that we all need to listen to our bodies and honor it’s messages to us! Resting is part of the creative process I believe.
I really don’t know what your nomination of my blog means but I’m sure it’s good and I am honored and humbled.
Does your husband have a brother, cousin, close friend who is also sensative and wonderful? …and single? 🙂 stay well, stay strong
Aww shucks! Thanks for the award. You are the nicest woman. That’s why he hugged you. You are good and kind and take care of your family and encourage your friends.
Steve is growing on me, even though I have never met him. You keep telling us little nice things about him and he is pretty cool!
Thanks, I will get right on it!
XOXO Catherine
Oh, I almost forgot. I really like that quirky little picture up there. The elements are truly jazzy! I am ignoring the fact that is supposed to illustrate the “sick and falling apart” you. It’s a great use of art supplies!
Cath
Thanks! It’s watercolor, acrylic ink (black and white) and ballpoint pen on watercolor paper.
Hope you’re feeling better, Carla. Love your Elephantie!!
What a perfect rendition of how you feel. I love blog posts that re human. Your partner is gold. Mine says things like that too, and they are usually right. Sleep fixes everything.
loving the fresh illustrations.. Cheers from Sydney, Dneese
ahhh…..gee thanks so much for the award, carla, i’m honored.
we must have been living on parallel emotional planes yesterday. what sage advice from your husband and how good you followed his advice. sleep really does make all the difference for me too. when i have a hard time sleeping (like now) everything becomes terribly out of focus. glad to read you’re feeling better.
the painting of the sad girl is beautiful.
I’m glad you’re feeling better, but had to say hooray Steve and hooray you for doing as he suggested. Isn’t it wonderful when our partner can care for us by insisting we care for ourselves?
It’s amazing to know what clarity a few hours of sleep brings!

Steve is such a doll. I’m glad you were able to get some well-deserved sleep and are feeling better now. The elepant is so cute and I loved the cat paintings. Don’t forget to give me your new address.
