Everyone needs a Krista in their life. She’s funny, smart, and a FAB–FAB–FAB artist… more than any single person she has inspired me, by her example, to “be myself” with my art. (One time I visited her in her Chicago apartment. She was drawing little pen-and-ink landscapes on a sheet of stickers… the kind of stickers you might put on yard sale items… tiny tiny! AND, her fish aquarium (sans fish) was lavender and functioned as a lamp… she was also sleeping in her orange pup tent which was set up in the middle of her apartment… oh my, I LOVE being in Krista’s spaces. But I digress…)
Some months ago Krista asked me to be one of 12 artists to create a mini park sculpture for her 2009 calendar project:
I just received my advance copy. I LOVE it! It’s HUGE and wonderful. (If you must have one, too, you can get yours here.) And, if you’re in the San Francisco area, Krista currently has a show at Rozanoff ART (355 29th Street, San Francisco, CA 94131 Gallery Hours: Tue-Sat 12-7PM) until October 7th.
Finally, I leave you with a photo of Krista with her super-awesome-performance-artist fiance, Zak Starer. LOVE these two!!
