I got out my sewing basket for the first time in months the other day… hoped to get a few little Christmas ornaments made for gifts… all that came out was “Cyclops Santa.” Steve said it was kind of creepy. Can you tell I was sick with the flu when I made it? LOL

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Be kind to yourself and spend some quality time with the glue gun if you can!

I’m teaching a local class here in Salida and last night (the fourth of five nights) we started some cereal box collage people…

This is the demo I did… it’s about half finished, but I actually like it ALMOST how it is right now! I might just add a tiny bit and call it finished, and do another demo for the class.

And Lezlie’s, above.

Things are quiet here in Salida, Colorado. It snowed about 8 inches the other day, so it’s beautiful! But I’m still feeling quiet blog-wise. I hope you are well!

“i radio heaven” by Over the Rhine

Listen here

+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

i radio heaven
i get mixed signals
i move the antenna
i switch the channels
i lie in this bed
my satellite dish
is there room in the universe
for one last wish
(i say)

do you read me
over
you wanna come
over

i guess i never told you
’bout this life i’m livin’
it’s heaven versus hell
in a split decision
this secret religion is
the best that i’ve found
i radio heaven
when no one’s around
(i say)
do you need me
over
you wanna come
over

this song is grinning
go on and undress it
it’s just the beginning
go on and possess it
you’re no longer a child now
don’t let them molest it
the wound is deep
i’m just trying to confess it

the truth is i bleed you
when these frequencies cut me
i’m a slut with a mission
a singular vision
i radio heaven
i get mixed signals
i move the antenna
i switch the channels

i radio heaven
i get mixed signals
i move the antenna
i switch the channels
i lie in this bed
my satellite dish
is there room in the universe
for one last wish

+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

If anyone ever wonders where I get my “girls” inspiration…

This is the birdhouse I finished over the weekend that is part of The Birdhouse Project, a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity. It’s at  Willow – An Artisan’s Market (formerly Middlefish) in Boulder, CO this week!

Today Steve is on his way to Tennessee for a photo shoot and I need to get some sketches done for my second ever 30″ x 40″ commission — this is HUGE for me!

We had a lovely Thanksgiving… quiet and cozy, just the three of us. Well, FOUR of us:

(And yes, she is lying on a painting.)

Have a wonderful week!!
