Yesterday afternoon I started a six-week zoo sketching class with Seattle artist Barbara Fugate. I loved it. She is an extremely talented artist and an articulate and smart teacher.
I’m pretty rusty, but did come out with these three drawings I liked (out of dozens).
We worked very quickly with gesture drawings for much of the class — my favorite way to draw!! (I totally struggled with the longer drawings, but am excited to take on the challenge.)
In other news, this morning I realized (with a start and a jolt) that my next workshops are only two weeks away… yikes!
I love these Carla, and I like short powerful acts of drawings, they are so much more dinamic and spirited. Spirited is the word that always pops in my mind when visiting your blog…
Enjoy teaching at A&S…there is never enough time to prepare is there?
