I am in an uncertain period of my life, not really sure where to go or how to go about it, but on the other hand creativity wise, things are quite good… go figure!
I am a relaxing and somewhat busy place in my life. In a couple of weeks it will get busier when I return to work full time. Creative juices have been flowing lately. Hope they keep flowing.
Well Carla, you certainly are not alone in that place! I am in “flux” too! Don’t really know what I want to do next, what will make my boat float, and where I want to go next! At 70 you would think as many times as I have been in this spot, I would know how to get myself motivated to move on into another place — but right now — the universe is just not speaking and I need to get into a quiet place and resolve the next place to be and go! I will be done sewing my grandkids Halloween costumes this week, done with art class this week, and I know what NEEDS to be done — clean the house for fall, the yard for fall, and get my greenhouse cleaned and ready for winter — but then what can I do for excitement and relaxation?
I just have to tell you Carla, that two mornings ago we had a beautiful huge horned owl in a big oak tree in my neighbor’s yard. It’s hoot was just outstanding to listen to. I was walking on my deck and I heard it — then I really began to listen to it. What an incredible sound. Then as I recognized where the sound was coming from he spread his wings and hopped onto another branch. He was huge, and his big ears just stood out above the leaves of the branch. His head was watching something on the ground. This picture sure reminds me of the “big hoot” is what I called him. Thanks for the wonderful pic!

Well I’m so glad the creative part is good, and I wish you the best as you navigate the other part! 🙂

Good luck, Susan, as you re-enter full-time work! I hope it’s a smooth transition for you!
Funny busy place — well put! Just about perfectly captures where I am. Thanks for making me realize I am not here alone!
Good luck to you, Heather! (And me, too!)
The same! I’ve made a promise to myself: once Festival is over, I’m taking the rest of the year off.
Oh! This sounds like an excellent plan!

Hi Mary Ann! I bet when you’re 90 you’ll be wondering the same thing!! Thank you for sharing, and good luck finding your next exciting relaxation!

great picture! smile on my face. busy here, too.
Perfect drawing to go with what you wrote, Carla. I can see it in a speech bubble over his head.
I am having a sort of creative identity crisis right now, but I think 98% of it boils down to my little head thinking WAY too much!
How beautiful…looks inquiring,
and I guess that’s how they get wise!
I’m at a point in life where I know that
“somedays you just gotta scribble with the black crayon.”
and that’s ok too….
