Hi Carla, I know I’m behind in assignments (went away for the weekend) but I did not receive today’s assignment. And it’s okay to have a slow day! Thank you, Savannah
I won’t have it together until tomorrow. Just home from an outdoor wedding in Buda, TX. The temperature was 34 degrees!!! Bride wore a beautiful strapless gown and purple sneakers. I’m still cold…. (Buda is 5 mi. S of Austin). Brrr
I am having the same kind of day – it’s a dreary San Diego day and I didn’t realize it was afternoon already …and what have I accomplished? I have reduced my email inbox from over 300 unread to about 35 and depleted my household junk food stash! – I’m going to the studio and I’m going NOW – thanks for the heads up! LOL
Carla, I’ve just been lurking around lately, but I wanted to let you know I’m really enjoying seeing you develop some new things lately. You have such a distinct style already that it’s almost surprising to see something new emerging (only because I’m so accustomed to what you “normally” do), and I think they’re fantastic! It’s also encouraging to see that even an established artist can continue to grow and explore. Thanks for sharing the journey!
Months ago when we’d e-mailed back and forth you’d said you’d like to see how my artwork developed as I continued to find my own style and techniques, and I kept meaning to e-mail but never got around to it. If you want to check it out, most of my work is on my gallery page on my blog, or in my Etsy shop in some form or another. I’ve delved into some mixed media on cardboard (characters inspired by the words on book pages), as well as some simple ink drawings, and I’m really enjoying my own journey. Thank you for helping push me along on my way!
Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hello and let you know how much I’m enjoying your new work! Take care. 🙂
Carla,
I tried the fabric website you mentioned. I had done some surface design paper pieces in watercolor and collage. The process of turning it into fabric was a piece of cake. I ordered it a few days ago and received it today. I am very happy with the results, price and service. I am a bookbinder and am going to turn mine into book cloth for a book.
Thanks for sharing the source.

Love where your fabric design is going. I took a textile design class once and while I loved it, getting the repeat right could be hard. Looks like you’re nailing it.
Im loving your paintings and fabric patterns!
I love that pattern Carla.

Yep, I had the day off and have absolutely no idea where it went…. Love the pattern. Wonderful colors.
