Hello! I’m here in Port Townsend, WA being a student at the Artfest retreat… I’m taking Jesse Reno for two days and here’s what I had at the end of yesterday:
It changed during today’s session… I do hope it’s better, but I don’t know! Here’s a detail:
Tomorrow I’m sculpting with Ty and Marcia Schultz…
Hope you’re having a great day!
Carla, I love the whole picture – I think you did well to choose Jesse Reno. So happy that you are enjoying yourself. Miss being there, but it’s nice to hear from those of you who are there.
Be safe and have fun.
Love what you did in Jesses’ class, your style shines through. So nice to see you. I cant wait for your class to begin!
Tara
It all sounds and looks wonderful!
great carla — I can see you style in those pics — looking forward to flower class — enjoy the rest of your classes :0)
So excited to see you continue to learn, play, and meet new artists! Great friends come to you in many ways — this is just one more fabulous way to make yourself happy and live a great life! Good for you fellow artist! Keep up the learning — always!
Such a wonderful opportunity to learn, grow, and explore with other amazing artists. So interested to learn about Artfest–it’s actually close enough for me to visit…maybe next year I’ll see you there!
hey carla, my name is Tori and I have been a bit of a stalker on both your’s and Jesse’s blog this year..how delightful to see the results of your class with him. In fact..if I saw this at a gallery, I might say something like..wow! this is Carla Sonheim meets Jesse Reno..or vise versa 🙂
I should also mention I did nail polish marbeling with the girls I work with last week..thanks for giving me something magical to do with common product.
Hi Carla, When I saw this, I immediately thought it seemed Chagall – like.
It looks like you had fun. xo
love this!! great images!
looks wonderful Carla, its such a shame that Artfest will no longer be operating, I think a lot of us had it on our bucket list, but now we have missed out. Its always nice to learn new techniques we grow in new directions. Enjoy the rest of your classes.
I’m so jealous! I live an hour away from Port Townsend, but can’t come up with that kind of moola to do ArtFest…someday! The last painting I did (you can see it on my blog) was inspired by Jesse Reno. I have a book of his paintings and have watched him paint on youtube many times! I just love his process, so I tried a painting using what I learned from watching his speed paintings. Someday I’ll take a Jesse Reno class too!
Your painting so far looks amazing! I can see both Jesse and Carla elements in there…it’s a great fusion of your style with his process! Have FUN!!!!
I love what you made! So many people seemed to come out of that class with little copies of Jesse’s paintings, but yours is wonderfully, uniquely yours.
Oh, that looks like fun! First one reminds me of a little Picasso and a little Chagall mixed in with your style.
I took his class in Virginia Beach and loved it. I really like what you have done in his class! Thanks for sharing.
