I would like to lose about ten pounds. I’ve given myself the summer to do it (seems a reasonable goal, you know, “do-able”), and my plan of attack is merely to walk or run daily and to stop eating muffins. Easy!
Except today on the way home from the bank I ended up standing in front of a bakery for more than five minutes trying to talk myself OUT of getting a muffin.
I managed to remain un-muffined for today (so far).
But the DRAMA!
These two images were recently licensed to the Leanin’ Tree card company.
Four weeks ago I decided to loose 15-20. I’ve been using a calorie counting program and have lost 2 pounds per week. I am trying to just take what I’ve learned about portions and foods and not count the calories–because it can be a pain. I have until the first week of August to make my goal. Good luck!
Congratulations on the card licensing! Very nice.
As for weight, I’ve started eating a quick smoothie a couple times per day, mango, peaches, pineapple, flax seed, chia seeds, and stevia for a little extra sweet (thought the fruit does’t need it). The chia seeds fill me up amazingly. I am almost never hungry and it’s been easy to cut my calories. I’m not entirely sure, but I think I’ve lost nearly 10 pounds in the past month. Cool! Plus I’m fooled into thinking I’m eating ice cream once or twice per day. :->
Carla, I absolutely love your cards. They will be perfect for leanin’ tree. Congrats on having them printed.
Congrats also on walking away from those beauts at the bakery. Good luck with all the temptations.
I have enjoyed your art for many years Carla. Today I chose to include a link to your blog on my Monday mingle post.
Angel blessings.
Might help to have the appropriate link to my blog. Let’s try this one.
I’m a member of the 10 or so pounds this summer, too. I have cookie drama instead of muffin drama…. good luck to us!
Congratulations on the greeting card contract. I wasn’t going to go to the krispy kreme drive-through but my dog threatened me if I didn’t buy a few donuts! I do as I’m told….lol
Think of another reward, something you like as much as muffins but without the calories. It works if you find the right thing. Good luck.
Have you thought about HALF a muffin?
Congratulations on the contract – I love the cards!!
As for the 10 pounds, a good reward for avoiding the muffin is going for that walk/run (I’m a walker myself). Summer’s a great time for changing eating habits – all those good fruits and veg!
Carla,
It’s hard to be muffin-free, but I use http://www.livestrong.com (free), log in and write down my calories religiously. I’ve lost almost 20 pounds. You could go in and note every muffin-free day and will feel much better when you see your progress.
I admit I factoried in popcorn and candy into my 1300 a day calorie limit. You could give up something else and factor in a muffin!!!!
Good luck,
Love and Hugs,
C
Carla, I have carbohydrate drama. I’m going to try metabolic resistance training for my pesky extra pounds. Good luck to all of us as we traverse towards vibrant health.
Congratulations on remaining muffin free today!!!! Celebrate every muffin free moment! Oh and congrats on the licensing too – pretty special day! – you should celebrate! But NOT with a muffin. 😉
Ugh. Losing weight is so hard.
Especially when muffins… or cupcakes … are around.
congrats on the license! I have that second one hanging in my kitchen-she makes me smile. Best of luck on going muffin-less )
