For today’s book release celebration I wrote a guest post for Hen’s Nest!!
There’s also a chance to win a copy of the book again and a short review by Henrietta. 😀
And if you read my post you will see there is a Silly Assignment for you to do (click to enlarge my attempt, above).
I do really like my last cat, done with my eyes closed and with one continuous line!

Have a wonderful day!

Isn’t it amazing how the “eye’s closed” versions are often the best?
I just got my copy of the The Art of Silliness and it is FAB-u-lous. I will be using it all the time to help move my creative muscles forward. Excellent warm up exercises, or simply methods to help fill my sketchbook with new, wild and silly ideas.
Thanks, Carla. Another smash hit!

Great cat. Kind of looks like he has been made out of wire!

This reminds me of when I was in college and did blind contours of vegetables! Of course every thing is much more cute with eyes, nose and mouth…oh and ears!

Would love to win this book! With winter coming on, I’ll have more time for reading and this book would make a welcome addition to my list of books to read

aha! I just did that exercise..such fun I am still smiling. And yes I love my last cat! its a happy cat.We did blind drawings at art school and quick drawings 2mins progressively down to 30secs. But with this exercise what you have done is give it context and substance. It is applicable to where I am working now. Its awesome Thanks Carla KAT

My eyes-closed cats are by far the best! That’s amazing. Thank you for sharing the exercise. Can’t wait to get my hands on the book.

I don’t have any of your books yet, but I have been doing some of the wonderful tutorials posted on your website. My tape creature morphed into a turkey and I love it! Thanks for all your generosity and encouragement!
