such wonderful textures and colors. someday i will have to try the Gelli plate.
Great results!
Beautiful results, I like to try it one day.
That looks awesome!!! Thanks for sharing… π
This is really superb Carla ! I am living in Kenya and really hope I can get the product you are talking about. Which tools did you use to apply it ? Is it on canvass or on paper ?
Terrific textures, inspiring! I am going to try it.
Oh this looks like fun. I am not familiar with Gelli plates…I’ll have to check them out.
Liking these.
I just got one, too! So much fun. These look great, Carla!
I have been considering buying one, after seeing you results maybe I will…
Good job.
It’s addictive!Make sure you have a good stack of paper before you start. The last time I did this I was using plain old gelatine plates.. Cheaper and that little frisson of risk, as they are fragile, and sensitive to climate.
I like your textures! Are they staying like this, or are you going to do something else with it?
nice!
Love the layers and textures you’re getting, Carla. After seeing Kari’s demo and your results I may have to buy one, too. What paper are you using? And paints: acrylics, I assume??
Yes, acrylics. I used Fabriano 140# hot press (all I really had). Kept working and working with layers until I liked these; about 10 still sit on the work table ready for more. π
As worthy as they are standing on their own, these would also make incredible backgrounds for drawings! Would love to see more of your ‘experiments.’
shut the front flippin’ door, I love this!!
Love this. The top one is my favourite…love the colours. Looks like a boat floating serenely on a pond to me, with overhanging trees (although if you flip it over it could be the pond at sunset…).
Sally Mather, another artist, and I have been getting together for several months now and having a blast with our gelli plates. Every week we have new show and tell and links to more techniques. Oh, I wish you were hereβ¦β¦β¦β¦
