So cool, Carla! I am both hesitant (considering work load) and really excited about the idea of starting a new year of… . You have wonderful techniques in the year plan. I will be busy working on a project about the Middle Ages , so I hope there will be occasion to work on lots of cool animals and landscapes but perhaps also some knights on horseback?
Hi Carla, I Loved the film and the art you created for it. Also so glad you chose 2014 to be The Year of the Fairytale! You have already inspired me and I am really looking forward to class! : )
aaaw so cute your small movie, love it.

Because otherwise i had taken your class.
I hope it all will be turning out well for you, I’m wishing you much fun with your students;-D

I appreciate the New structure and looking forward Tod recieve my first assignment. All the best for you and hope you might live happily ever after:) Susanne
I am so happy with the theme! 🙂 I love the video! You are such a Princesse! Hheheheh… Sure, I’m in! I find that Fairy Tales illustrate the collective unconscious of Humanity. I am sure that exploring that theme will reveal many things to all of us! 🙂
I’m in,too!
So right that fairy tales are important , they are a major part of our symbolic heritage; so for me an extra reason to be part of it!
Eheheh.
love the little video – sounds like lots of fun — I have taken several of your classes and love your gentle manner of teaching — have learned lots — count me in — I am taking several classes already, but I think I will be able to manage — I am retired and have a new art studio — have some volunteer stuff, but nothing heavy right now so I should have plenty of time — love the fairy tale theme — think I will start rereading some to get in the mood —
love the idea and the concept, Carla, and the video of course! I have a lot of plans for 2014 and am not sure if I could manage all this without getting overwhelmed and skipping it all at last…. I have to think and feel carefully about this.
SOOO tempting, Carla!!!!
I don’t think I can resist!
I LOVE illustration, and I have grown up on Hans Christian Andersen’s and Grimm’s fairy tales.
I wonderwhich fairy tales you will choose!
Yay! Can’t wait for next year! I have so enjoyed the Year of the Giraffe and all the online classes I’ve taken from you this year, Carla! Your classes are so fun and everyone is so supportive and encouraging. I like your new format for next year and your theme, Fairytales. It will be a magical year! For anyone hesitating on signing up, please do! You won’t regret it! 🙂
I’ve anticipating this for months. Glad to be a part of the journey. Meanwhile, I’ve found my copy of “Drawing Lab” and playing with these assignments!
So Now I’m over the moon with excitement. I’ve started a Pinterest fairytale inspiration exploration board. I’ve gotten out a sketchbook and worked on that inner critic saying, “You may love fairytales but you can’t draw people!” I figured she had to be tamed first before I entered your fairytale land of lessons! And I’ve looked at what I love about fairy tales so that I know what inspires me. I must say I’m thrilled that you are offering this class. I also work with little children and am figuring out ways to use my folktale literature be more expressive to inspire young artists. Maybe we can even write our own fairytale and illustrate it! I’ve been daydreaming and having wonderful dreams at night. My imagination has surely taken flight. Now two pages into a sketchbook I may not be able to draw people well, but I’ve got a man tree, a snail princess, a star maiden, and a fairy godmother opening a locket on a young girl’s neck. Who cares if the proportions are less than perfect eh? My elf with pockets overflowing with candy doesn’t seem to mind. I’m looking forward to learning and experimenting. I’m so excited I’m bubbling over… When my paycheck is deposited at the end of the month I’ll be registering first thing. I want to take your face class in the next holiday so that I can devote all my time to it. I need that kind of repetition to get over the hurdles of thinking I can’t.
