Here is a peek into the fairy tale video set that was up the last two weeks… it changed several times and my large stuffed giraffe from last year has, apparently, become my “stand-in.” Steve and Matisse did such a beautiful job designing the set and filming! I am fortunate. 😀

In other news, I’m taking a “Creative Monotype” printmaking class from Pratt Fine Arts Center with instructor Rickie Wolfe. Despite Rickie’s wonderful teaching and Pratt’s great studio, I am just doing the UGLIEST work so far!

What a beautiful set! How fun to play like that! I am currently struggling to take reproduction-quality pictures of my watercolor paintings (having a hard time capturing the fine and light details in a way that prints accurately, to put days of retaking and Photoshopping in a nutshell!), and I thought, “I need to visit Steve Sonheim for some help.” If only it was that easy! 😉
Hi Gretchen! Steve mentioned the other day that he was going to do a free tutorial on how to photograph paintings, so stay tuned! (Not sure when it will happen, though. Hopefully this next month!)

Bill Cosby bought his kids a very “ugly” pug (I think that is what kind of dog it was) just so they could learn to love the ugly – good entertainer and great father. I would love to hang around with him and Einstein – what a team that would be. But for now I love creating from blobs – thanks Carla for many moments of happy!

Hi Carla! I was so excited to see “Stephanie” back in your studio! My first thought a fairy tale with a giraffe in it! Glad to see you are having fun and your new set is delightful! The class you are taking with the artist, Rickie Wolfe looks intriguing! I love it when artists combine so many different materials together to create the unusual. I do hope you will share what you create. And sometimes ugly can be beautiful too! 🙂
