Assignment #11 from “Drawing Lab: A Fun and Silly Art Kit” Hi today! Another drawing exercise in this kit is “One-Liners.” This exercise is inspired by the wonderful one-line drawings of Picasso, and consist of creating many fast drawings using ONE line only (once you put pen to paper, you don’t lift your hand from the page). This “limitation” (must be done quickly, and with only one line) forces your subconscious to make your decisions, and will often result in elephants (or bicycles or houses or rabbits or toilets) that you might never have thought to draw the more traditional way: And you might even come up with a species you like even better! * * * Leave a comment above (click the “# comments” link on the top right) for your chance to win a copy of the new “Drawing Lab Kit!” International entries welcome. 😀 Today’s winner will be picked at 6pm PST Wednesday, 11/19. The winner is Dawn Barnes! Here is the blog schedule. Come back each day for a chance to win! (And please tell your friends!) Sunday 11/16 – First Day Giveaway! Winner picked! (Victoria) Monday 11/17 – Cats in Bed Winner picked! (Marcie) Tuesday 11/18 – One-Liners Winner picked! (Dawn) Wednesday 11/19 – Gesture Drawings Winner picked! (Lani) Thursday 11/20 – Picasso Dogs Winner picked! (Michaele) Friday 11/21 – Index Card Multiples Winner picked! (Denise) Saturday 11/22 – 100 Faces Project Winner picked! (Anne) Sunday 11/23 – Coffee Shop Drawings Winner picked! (Lynn) Monday 11/24 – Blind Contours Winner picked (Monica) Tuesday 11/25 – Last Giveaway Day! Winner picked! Dear Carla, The prize is neither here nor there as my granddaughter and I had a wonderful time together making our paper dolls fairytales. That, to me, was worth more than anything. The value she got out of it is so evident in her absolute joy in making paper dolls, drawing with her eyes closed, with her left hand and colouring in blobs.
What a gift thank you so much,
