Assignment #10 from “Drawing Lab: A Fun and Silly Art Kit“
This lab is one of those that can take a few days or weeks to complete, but the idea is that you create 100 faces in as many different ways as possible.
Now, faces can be scary! (I’ve drawn a lot of faces, and they still scare me!) So the best thing I know of to help get you over the scary hump is to just give myself an assignment and do it.
You can draw faces from life, from photos, and from imagination. You can draw them fast, slow, scribbly, neat, with- or without shading, and using one line only.
The above two faces are a modified one-liner using the chisel point pen from the kit and adding water with a brush for the shading… isn’t it cool?

I’m slowly working on 100 faces. I did 30 in one sitting with a micron pen in my small Moleskine. That was fun!
I love Drawing Lab! I use so many of your exercises when I create my daily Art on My Door pieces.

I have done this lab its a lot of fun! : )
I used to do this during boring lectures at school except I drew stick legs and shoes under the chin. They were infinitely more entertaining than the lectures! Now I will do it without worrying if my teacher will catch me. You are the best instructor!

I did this activity with the kids a few summers ago–trying to complete 100 faces together. And your FACES 101 was one of my favorite classes.
What you did to the faces is cool. I need to get less intimidated. about a lot. I need your kit. after a few years of being sick and hubby out of work…I need to dive into my creativity again! What a coup for Christmas. haha

Oh gosh! Now I’m behind in all these fun, silly assignments that I love so much. It’s 1 o’clock in the morning my time, and I’m almost ready to jump out of bed to go draw some great faces. But I show restrain myself and simply vow to catch up tomorrow!
