in‘Tis Monday and just back from extended PLAY,
I drew and I fussed on the ‘puter each day.
While others got messy with glitter and paint
I stuck with my Sharpie, my keyboard, restraint.
For two days I did this here Silliness thing
I worked till my shoulder blade started to sting
But it wasn’t too long ‘fore I gave up and found
that gouache mixed with fingers is happiness bound.
I didn’t work long, though, I had to get back
to my constant companion, the MacBook Pro Mac.
(For Fleep lists and puzzles and drawings of cups —
My deadline, you see, was coming right ups!)
😀

Thanks to Teesha and Tracy Moore for another great event!

Hello and how are you today? I worked on this guy off-and-on the past few days (in between computer stuff). My drawing table is just behind my computer table, so I just spin my chair around when I need a little drawing fix.
My motto is, “Why DRAW, when you can DRAW?”
Have a great weekend!
_____
P.S. The process for making this guy is the core of the Imaginary Creatures online class, which starts Monday. It’s not too late to sign up!

inWell, I had just the best birthday! Thank you to all of you who commented here and left birthday wishes on my facebook page… I felt very “loved” and I thank you.
Today is one of those days that I just feel this STRESS that I can’t shake. I am plenty behind on all sorts of things, but seeing as this is not a new situation, why the panic TODAY?
Oh well.
The above rabbit painting is mixed media on wood and is sitting above Steve’s desk right now. He wanted me to send it off to a gallery but I’m too attached to it right now to let it go. He just makes me happy! (The rabbit… but Steve too!!)

inI have been trying to take an appropriate percentage of time to PAINT lately, as it’s so easy to be the first thing off the list when emails, blog posts, silly classes and workshop proposals call for my attention!
I’ve been working on a series of rabbits. This is a little 6″x6″ on wood. It is painted with gouache, gesso and pencil… that’s about it. They are from my imagination (though after time spent drawing from photo references).
I’ll show you more soon!!

inLately I’ve had rabbits on the brain. I’m working on a slew of rabbit paintings, none of which are quite ready to show, but here’s one I did finish yesterday (and yes, I think it’s a dog, not a rabbit. It morphed on me at the last second. 6″x6″, mixed media on wood).
I am trying to paint as much as I can before the next round of online workshops carries me away to Computerland for a few months.
(Computerland is not a bad place, it’s just a place where your hands can’t be as messy.)
If I’m fairly quiet over here, that’s why!
