“Picasso Giraffe,” colored pencil on handmade paper.

We just did the “Picasso Dogs” exercise in the Draw! workshop and I thought it would be interesting to apply the exercise to giraffes (because of the Year of the Giraffe!). Weird, but I like it, especially because it works both ways:
I’m having so much fun with both classes!
Hope you all are great.
I have one of your books, hope to take one of your classes someday. This giraffe is just more than awesome. It makes you really laugh. What a great poster for a child’s bedroom.
You do some really interesting things with your giraffes! I’ve tried a couple of Picasso dogs, will have to try other critters too.
Thanks for including info about the Online Picasso Project in your Drawing Lab book – it’s a stunning collection!
Adore!
Love these giraffes, they’re fun!
I love all Picasso creatures, Carla…. what a wonderful invention you’ve come up with!!! I especially love doing Picasso insects with kids!
These are so cute! I just might have to make some myself.
Adorable! I always say there’s nothing so wonderful as a reversible giraffe!
Very Cool!
Hi Carla, I received your book “Drawing Lab for mixed-media Artists” for Christmas and am loving it!! although I am stuck on drawing the Picasso Dogs–have been doing about one a day in my journal! Thank you for your great instructions and photos in the book.
You’re welcome, Ileen, and thank you for your comment!
These are so mind-bendingly wild! I have to look up the Picasso dog exercise in your book now. Also really love the handmade paper — great background texture and warmth.
