Yesterday I went to the Seattle Art Museum for an hour or so… something I don’t do often enough! I stopped in front of Gerrit van Honthorst’s “A Shepherdess Adorned with Flowers,” 1627:
… and drew a “Master Copy” in my own style:
It was fun to do!
I also saw my Imaginary Animals book in the Museum book store. I was so proud, I told the store attendant.
And then there was that awkward moment!
HAHA
delight on both sides I would imagine. xxxxxx
Thanks for sharing that tidbit and sweet drawing. Both made me smile.
Carla, you’re funny :D! And really love the master copy, such a cool idea!
I like your master copy – Carla a la Matisse or Picasso perhaps…
I love your drawing.
Love your drawing.
I’d have told the attendant if I had a book in their shop too ~ you must have had your head in the clouds!
Your copy looks much better!
What awkward moment?
Awkward silence, I should say. She said “oh” and I felt so stupid! And then I had to continue shopping… haha…
Carla
WHAT awkward moment??
Ana
X ;).
No need to feel stupid, you are world famous to me :P.
Thanks for the inspiration, btw. Worked much too precise, and see that this is just great.
I like your master version better – reminds me of Matisse.
Carla, if i were that cashier, i would have bought the book and had you sign it for me at the spot!! x
You should be proud!….and I love your interpretation of the painting.
Love your master copy! And I agree with Sofia!!
This is so wonderful and fun! I looked up this artist on Pintrest and have been doing my own versions of some paintings…love it! Thanks for the cool idea and I would not have had the confidence to do this if not for your Faces 101 class!! Keep up the interesting blog entries Carla…I love everything you do.
